Current Quarantines

A population of Mexican fruit flies was detected in the city of Escondido (San Diego County) in November 2007. Efforts to eradicate the pest have begun, and regulations were adopted to contain the pest to the localized area. Growers and residents shall contact agricultural officials before moving any host fruits and vegetables from backyards, orchards, or farms in the area.

More information on the Mexican fruit fly quarantine can be found at “Exotic Fruit Fly Quarantines in California."
