CDFA’s Dairy Digester Research and Development Program (DDRDP) provides financial assistance for the installation of dairy digesters in California, which will result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The 2024 DDRDP solicitation is now closed. Applications were accepted between July 23 and October 18, 2024. CDFA received 22 applications requesting $30.4 million in grant funds. A list summarizing the applications received is available:

What is a dairy digester?
Dairy digesters are a renewable technology that uses livestock manure to produce methane, which is a renewable source of electrical energy generation and transportation fuel. How is DDRDP funded?
CDFA receives funding from California Climate Investments for methane emissions reductions from dairy and livestock operations.
