This multi–agency bird hotline provides information in both English and Spanish. People can call this number to quickly report sick or dead poultry, wild birds, or pet birds. The public can obtain information on how to know when their birds are sick, and how to protect their birds from disease. There is information on specific bird diseases such as avian influenza, Exotic Newcastle Disease, West Nile Virus, and wild bird die–offs. Additionally the public is given health advice about poultry and egg food safety, handling dead birds, hunter safety, contact of other pets with birds, and safely viewing birds in parks and zoos.
